This historical building, a set of semi's in Rosedale, area of Toronto, was in terrible shape when we got involved. We worked with the Toronto Historical Board to ensure that the renovations and additions planned for the building blended perfectly with the character and detail of the original building. The bricks had been sandblasted, and were in bad shape. All we could do to stabilize was to seal and paint the bricks in a complementary way with the wood trim all around the building.

Converted to a rooming house in the 50's and 60's, we uncovered and restored many areas of the houses, including marble fireplaces hidden by masonite walls, and wood railings hidden by drywall covering. We lovingly matched etched glass panels for door transoms and deep and rich mouldings throughout the houses.

At the same time, we introduced modern conveniences and up to date communication, mechanical, and electrical requirements. Two spectacular homes resulted, which received major design awards.
