The fact that we were hired in the first place is a story in itself. Our client had an idea in his mind that two other residential architects had advised him could not be built. We were hired on the spot, when we said “no problem” after hearing the client’s wishes. A glazed central atrium, a set of twin curved stairs, separated parents and kids wings, a sunken garden surrounded by loggias were only some of the key features of this remarkable home.

This experience demonstrated once again that the role of the architect is to listen to the client, and respond to his/her needs, not to impose preconceived notions of what can or cannot be designed.
